Here is a greater breakdown of our process so you can understand exactly how we execute each of our projects

01

Initial Meeting & Site Visit

We meet and get to know each other. The space has the potential to feel like it was designed for you, and we want to build as much of that feeling into your new space as possible. Once we understand your vision, style, and intended uses for the space, we get to work on your design.
03

Design Process

The design is the cornerstone of every project we build, and it is the common language between every party involved. It ensures you see the vision and love it, long before we put a shovel in the ground. During the installation, it is the insurance policy that ensures everyone knows it is being installed exactly as it was intended.
02

Proposal

We create a detailed quote for your project. In this quote you will find a start date, timeline for completion, a detailed scope of work, and prices for each element of your project. It is during this phase we often make additions or subtractions to the scope of work based on the prices presented and the budget available. Final decisions on materials and scale of certain elements are also finalized in this phase before signing.

Contract Signing and Deposit

Once you are happy with the plan, we sign the contract and begin! This is where the excitement really builds. We collect the deposit, typically 25% of the project cost, and begin planning. We organise materials, call for locates, apply for any necessary permits, and place your project on our calendar. Then, we count down the days!

Construction Begins

The day has arrived! We arrive with our tools, equipment, machines, materials, and we begin the process of transforming what was, into what can be! Whether your project will take a day to install, or 3 months, we carefully execute the plan and make sure you are kept in the loop each step of the way. Our team is always happy to answer any questions you have, and to make any changes you decide on once we get started. Throughout the project we collect progress payments that reflect the amount of work completed, so you know that everything is being done in a timely manner.

Final Walkthrough & Project Completion

Once complete, we take off the blindfold, and… voila! Well, unless you were on vacation, you’ve likely already seen most of the progress. The hard work is done though, and the project is complete! We walk through, making sure everything is crafted as planned. The final payment is exchanged, and we provide you with all of the information you need to move forward and enjoy your new space. We will also provide you with details about how we can help you maintain your new space, if you wish to leave that work to someone else! We love helping take care of the spaces we create.

The Greenspace Guarantee

At Greenspace Landscaping & Outdoor Living, we believe longevity and quality craftsmanship are the foundation of every successful project. Often, the most important parts of a landscape are the elements you never actually see. The base preparation beneath a patio or new lawn, the way a root ball is handled before planting a tree, or the foundation beneath a retaining wall all play a critical role in how well a landscape performs over time.

Many of the details that determine the success of a project are buried underground or hidden within the structure of the installation. When these elements are done correctly, they quietly support the beauty and functionality of the finished space for years to come. When they are done poorly, problems can begin to appear surprisingly quickly.

At Greenspace, we approach every project with a commitment to building things properly from the ground up. A few core principles guide the way we work.

Ongoing Education & Knowledge of Best Practices
Landscaping is an industry that continues to evolve as new materials, techniques, and standards emerge. Our team is committed to continually learning and refining our craft so we can deliver the highest quality work possible. We regularly attend provincial conferences, study proven construction methods, and stay informed about the latest landscaping and installation practices. This commitment to education allows us to approach each project with confidence that we are applying the best methods available.

Thoughtful Material Selection
The materials used in a landscape have a significant impact on both the appearance and long-term performance of a project. While the final material selections are always made by our clients, we place a strong emphasis on recommending high-quality, proven products that will stand the test of time. Our goal is to help guide material choices that reflect the investment being made in the property and support a landscape that will continue to perform well for many years.

Corners Never Cut
Unfortunately, we often hear stories of failed retaining walls, heaving driveways, or struggling plantings that have occurred because key steps in the installation process were skipped or rushed. These types of problems are frustrating because, in many cases, they are entirely preventable. At Greenspace, we are committed to building landscapes the right way the first time. Our clients should feel confident that the work being installed on their property has been completed with care, attention to detail, and a focus on long-term value. By refusing to cut corners, we aim to deliver projects that stand up to time and eliminate the need for costly repairs or replacements down the road.

Our relationship with our clients does not end when the project is complete. Landscapes are living, evolving spaces, and as they grow and mature, questions or small adjustments may naturally arise.

At Greenspace, we are a company that genuinely cares about the people who work with us. We are always happy to answer questions, offer guidance, or help address anything that may come up in your landscape over time. Whether you are unsure about the care of a particular plant, notice a pest or issue developing, would like something pruned in a specific way, or need a repair to part of the landscape, our team is here to help.

We believe this level of care and accessibility should be common practice in our industry. Our goal is to remain a trusted resource for our clients long after installation so you can continue to enjoy your outdoor space with confidence.

A landscape project is a meaningful investment in your home, and it should be built with the expectation that it will last. At Greenspace, we stand behind the work we install and the materials we use. Our warranties are designed to give you confidence that your landscape has been built properly and that our team will support the project after installation.

We carefully select materials, follow proven installation practices, and pay close attention to the details that influence long-term performance. When those elements are combined with clear warranties, our clients can feel comfortable knowing their outdoor space has been built with longevity in mind.

Depending on the elements included in your project, the following warranties may apply:

Outdoor lighting enhances both the beauty and usability of your property. Our lighting installations are backed by a five-year warranty so you can enjoy reliable performance from your lighting system.

Outdoor structures such as fences, decks, and pergolas play an important role in defining and supporting your outdoor living space. Our installations are backed by a five-year warranty.

Irrigation Systems — 5 Year Warranty

A properly installed irrigation system helps maintain the health and appearance of your landscape over time. Our irrigation systems are backed by a five-year warranty to ensure reliable operation and long-term performance.

Lawn Installations — 1 Year Warranty (with Irrigation)

Lawn installations that include a full-coverage Wi-Fi supported irrigation system are covered by a one-year warranty to help ensure the lawn establishes properly and grows into a healthy, vibrant surface.

Garden Bed Installations — 1 Year Warranty (with Irrigation)

For garden bed installations that include a full-coverage Wi-Fi supported irrigation system, we provide a one-year limited warranty to support proper plant establishment and early growth. This helps ensure the planting areas develop into healthy, thriving parts of your landscape.

While the exact terms and coverage details vary depending on the project, the goal of these warranties is simple: we want our clients to feel confident that the landscapes we build are designed to perform and that our team stands behind our work.

Full warranty terms, conditions, and limitations are outlined in our project agreements. These details ensure clarity for both our team and our clients while reinforcing our commitment to building landscapes that last.

We hope that you will be our next 5-star review!

FAQS

let's answer some of your most common questions

How much does a landscaping project typically cost?

Every landscaping project is unique, so the final investment depends on the size of your property, the elements included in the design, and the materials selected. Smaller projects such as garden bed installations may begin around a few thousand dollars, while larger outdoor living spaces involving patios, lighting, planting, and structures can reach $50,000–$100,000 or more. During our initial consultation, we take time to discuss your goals and budget so the design can be developed in a way that aligns with your investment while still achieving the vision you have for your outdoor space.

Our process is designed to be clear and collaborative. First, we meet on site to discuss your goals, ideas, and budget. From there, we develop a landscape design and project plan. Once the design is finalized, we provide a detailed proposal outlining the scope of work and investment. After approval, your project is scheduled and our team begins installation. When the project is complete, we review the finished space together and remain available for ongoing care and support.

Yes. Our team manages the majority of our projects from start to finish, including design, site preparation, construction, planting, lighting, and finishing details. For certain specialized elements, we may work with trusted trade partners, but we coordinate the process to ensure everything integrates smoothly with the overall project.

Project timelines vary depending on the scope of work. Smaller projects may take only a few days, while larger outdoor living spaces involving patios, structures, and planting can take several weeks. Once the design and scope are finalized, we provide a clearer timeline so you know what to expect before construction begins.

Landscaping projects can typically be completed from spring through late fall. Many clients begin planning in winter or early spring so their projects can be scheduled earlier in the season. Because our installation calendar fills quickly each year, we often recommend reaching out several months in advance if you are hoping to complete a project during the upcoming season.

Not always, but thoughtful planning almost always leads to a better result. The vast majority of our projects begin with design so that the layout, materials, and plant selections work together cohesively before construction begins. We consider landscape design to be the cornerstone of all successful projects.

There are many material options available for patios, walkways, and other landscape elements. During the design process, we guide you through the available options and recommend materials that are durable, proven, and well suited to your property. Our goal is to help you select materials that reflect your style while also supporting long-term performance.

A well-designed landscape can significantly enhance curb appeal and overall property value. Outdoor living spaces such as patios, walkways, lighting, and structured planting beds often provide strong returns by improving both the beauty and usability of the property. Just as importantly, these improvements create outdoor spaces you can enjoy every day.

Some disruption is unavoidable during construction, but our team works carefully to minimize the impact on your property and daily routine. We maintain an organized job site, communicate clearly about the progress of the project, and aim to complete installations as efficiently as possible while maintaining quality workmanship.

Longevity begins with proper construction. Many of the most important aspects of a landscape—such as base preparation, drainage, and structural support—are hidden beneath the finished surface. Our team follows proven installation methods and industry best practices to ensure the landscape performs well over time, and we stand behind many of our installations with industry-leading warranties.

Yes. We offer warranties on many of the landscaping elements we install, including patios, retaining walls, lighting systems, irrigation systems, fences, decks, and lawns. These warranties reflect our commitment to building landscapes properly and standing behind the work we deliver. Full warranty details and coverage terms are outlined in our project agreements.

Our relationship with our clients does not end when the project is complete. If questions arise or something needs attention, we are always happy to help. Whether it is guidance on plant care, addressing an issue, or helping with repairs, we remain available to support our clients and their landscapes over time.

Yes. In addition to landscape construction, we offer maintenance services to help clients care for their outdoor spaces as they grow and mature. This can include garden care, pruning, seasonal cleanups, and general landscape upkeep so your property continues to look its best.

Maintenance requirements vary depending on the design and the types of plants or features included. During the planning process, we can recommend plant selections and landscape features that align with the level of maintenance you are comfortable with. Some landscapes are designed to be very low maintenance, while others may require more regular care.

Yes, we work with a skilled subcontractor who specializes in irrigation systems to install full-coverage systems for our projects. Irrigation is one of the best ways to support healthy plant growth and maintain a vibrant lawn, and many systems can be controlled with Wi-Fi enabled technology for convenience.

The best time to reach out is now. Regardless of where we are in the season, we would love to hear from you. Our installation calendar fills quickly each year, and reaching out early gives us more time to discuss your goals, develop a design, and schedule the project at the right time.

Clients choose Greenspace because they want a team that values thoughtful design, quality craftsmanship, and clear communication. We focus on building landscapes the right way, using proven installation methods and materials that stand the test of time. Our goal is to create outdoor spaces that feel beautiful, functional, and built to serve your property well for years to come.

We always aim to design landscapes that align with our clients’ budgets. Occasionally certain elements, materials, or site conditions can push a project beyond the initial target investment. When this happens, we are always happy to work with you to adjust the project scope. This may involve modifying material selections, adjusting the scale of certain features, prioritizing key elements, or phasing the project over time. Our goal is to value-engineer a landscape that still achieves your goals while remaining financially comfortable for you.

Not at all. Many of our clients begin with only a general idea that they would like to improve their outdoor space. Part of our role is helping you explore possibilities, develop a clear vision, and guide you through the design process so the final landscape feels intentional and well planned.

Many landscapes have underlying issues such as poor drainage, uneven grading, or aging hardscape features. These challenges are often opportunities to improve the long-term performance of the space. During the planning process we assess site conditions and recommend solutions that address these issues while integrating them into the overall design.

We aim to make the process smooth and manageable for homeowners. After the design and project details are finalized, our team handles the majority of the construction work. We keep you informed of progress along the way and are always available to answer questions, but you do not need to manage the project yourself.

Choosing the right landscaper comes down to trust, communication, and confidence in the team performing the work. We encourage homeowners to review our past projects, read client reviews, and speak with us about their goals. Our approach focuses on thoughtful design, quality construction, and building landscapes that last, and we want every client to feel confident that they are working with a team that genuinely cares about the result.
